Bridge Eight Press
*Passion Project // Brand development, Creative Direction & Operations
I founded Bridge Eight Press in 2014 to build a literary arts culture in NE Florida.
Five years later, with the help of a small team of writers, editors and designers, the press has published over 155 writers and created a reading series that has brought award-winning authors to the city including Kristen Arnett, author of NY Times Bestselling novel Mostly Dead Things (Tin House, 2019); Sarah Gerard, author of Sunshine State: Essays (Harper Collins, 2018) and Jeff Parker, Ovenman: a Novel (Tin House, 2007).
Bridge Eight’s first book-length project, 15 Views of Jacksonville: Short Stories From a Bold City featured 16 Jacksonville-based authors and was 120% funded through a Kickstarter campaign in July 2018.
The Press’ first novel, Alligator Zoo-Park Magic by C.H. Hooks was published in March 2019 and included in The Bitter Southerner’s prestigious “2019 Summer Reading Roundup.”
Forthcoming publications include Ghost Engine by Christian TeBordo (Nov. ’19) and I’ll Tell You a Love Story by Couri Johnson (March ’20).
Note: After 5 years of building and running Bridge Eight Press, I sold the company in August 2019 to become a dad and make room for other creative endeavors. Much more to come.
